Our team members have been providing clients with design excellence since 2002. During that time, we have built a reputation for reliabilty and efficiency, a reputation we take very seriously. We feel strongly that everyone deserves to be represented by well-crafted designs and are saddened by the large amounts of unprofessional content on the web. Our clients enjoy the friendly, informative nature of our interactions and appreciate our attention to detail.
The company began through conversations between founders Nick and Jeremy about the state of the internet and web design. Their complimentary skillsets of graphic design and web development complimented each other perfectly, providing a golden opportunity to start a business doing what they love.

Noah Kroese intends for his site to serve as an advertisement for potential clients; the professional interest that a quality website generates can be considerable. He wanted a simple, attractive site that wouldn't distract from the artwork on display.
In order to reference Noah's skills, he created a series of drawings for use on the site. This gives the viewer a general idea of what he is capable of before they even open up one of his galleries. For consistency, the gray lines and text reference the drawings.

The redesign of the University of Idaho Bookstore's website has resulted in an increase in sales of over 300% since 2003. That increase is the result of Nick's attractive, consistent design and Juliette's professional-quality product shots.
The Bookstore required a web site that would work with their antiquated inventory control system yet allow for additional, adaptable content. Compatibility constraints would prove to be sizable but could be managed by creating two virtually separate sites; the product catalog and everything else. Separating the two halves allowed us to design the interface while leaving inventory control to the existing system.

We designed this site as a showcase for David Bryant's photography work. As a photographer in Sitka, Alaska, he has accumulated years worth of work that he wanted to share with the world. The site contains such a wide range of beautiful Alaskan wilderness pictures that our job was primarily to create a design that would aid with navigation, but stay out of the way of the photographs.
David needed a system that would allow him to easily modify the contents of the different photo galleries without changing any code. The result was a filesystem-driven photo gallery generated dynamically by a simple script.

Nick's professional site was designed with simplicity in mind to prevent the site from overshadowing the work in the galleries. A monochromatic color scheme and delicate lines serve this purpose well, as does the clear navigation system.
The largest problem involved with this project was the volume of work on display in the gallery. The design of the wayfinding elements had to be flexible enough to accomodate multiple pages within pages without looking cluttered. Seperating the horizontal space into three seperate sections with different types of content successfully solved the problem.

This is the "reference" version of the Rocket Surgery website built using XML and XSL instead of plain HTML. It is used to automatically re-build the site when content changes. This allows us to quickly add or remove content without worrying about the presentation or scripting.
XML and XSL are extremely powerful technologies that make site maintenance much easier, but inconsistent browser support makes it difficult to take full advantage of them. All Rocket Surgery sites are built using these tools, and then automatically converted to simple HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for maximum compatibility -- giving our customers fast turn-around on updates.

Juliette's own personal site is a reflection of her tastes in color and style. It is elegant with subtle natural tones and utilizes negative space very efficiently. Her use of the horizontal and vertical axis helps the viewer's eyes float over the page without getting lost.
A simple menu system allows for easy navigation into the seperate areas of the site. In the gallery, each project is arranged into a block to add weight on the page for emphasis. Having the contents of each gallery centralized on one page allows for easier viewing.

Like his current site, the previous incarnation of Nick's website was simple with special attention paid to layout. A stylized "shadow" effect was used in the navigation menu and the gallery utilized rollovers to display its contents.
Nick used the site for a few years, receiving numerous compliments during that time.
